Braun Series 7 Review

The Braun Series 7 is an outstanding choice for a men’s electric shaver. It is a foil shaver with enough power for most faces.

Shaver Dude Quick Thoughts

“The Braun Series 7 is an excellent choice in the mid-price range category of shavers. Happy to recommend this one.”

Shaver Dude

I classify the Braun Series 7 into the mid-range category for price, but the price varies greatly depending upon the accessories included.

Braun Series 7 Performance

Closeness

The shave is pretty close. Not as close as the elite shavers like the Braun Series 9 Pro+ or the Philips Norelco S9000 Prestige, but it gets closer than the budget rotary shavers like the Philips Norelco 3900.

Comfort

I did not experience any tugging or discomfort while shaving.

The 360 flex head provides a lot of motion for the head of the shaver. This motion allows the shaver to glide comfortably across the face. In my opinion, the 360 flex head reduces strain on your wrist, elbows and shoulders because the 360 flex head provides the motion instead of your human joints.

Irritation

The irritation is very minimal.

The Shaver Head

The Series 7 has a shaving head which consists of 2 foil shavers and a trimmer in between. The shave head can be easily removed for cleaning or replacement.

Old vs New

In 2024, Braun released a newer version of the Series 7 shaver. The model numbers of the newer one start with 71xx, for example 7185. The older Series 7 shavers start with model number 70xx, for example 7085.

The difference is the addition of a Turbo Mode for the newer version. It also includes a gentle mode and a regular mode. This allows a shaver to adjust the speed of the cutting blades for the most comfortable shave. I typically shave with the Turbo Mode because I think it cuts more hair with each pass.

By The Numbers

  • 360 Flex System – that means the head of the shaver can rotate in all directions
  • 3 Flexible Blades
  • 60 minutes of run-time per charge
  • Quick 5-minute Charge
  • 3 Shave Modes – see speeds below

Old Series 7

  • 24,000 cutting actions per second

New Series 7

  • Gentle: could not find this number anywhere??
  • Standard: 18,500 cutting actions per second
  • Turbo: 26,000 cutting actions per second

What is Included?

There are many configurations available. Some come with a beard trimmer. Others come with a stubble trimmer. And others come with both or neither.

The Attachments are named EasyClick, and you can buy many of those separately.

Conclusion

Overall, the Braun Series 7 is fantastic. It provides a smooth shave; it has a variety of useful attachments. In 2025, I suggest the newer model for the slightly stronger motor with Turbo Mode.
