The Braun Series 5 is an outstanding budget-friendly shaver. It is a foil shaver. You can select from a variety of different attachments, all which work well. There is a newer version (as of 2024) which includes a Turbo Mode.

The Series 5 gets a closer shave than any of the other budget-friendly shavers I have tried.
Comfort
The Series 5 is definitely more comfortable than most other budget shavers I have tested. I do think the Philips Norelco 3900 is slightly more comfortable while shaving but that is because the Philips does not shave as close.
Irritation
I experience minimal irritation with the Series 5.
Old Style Series 5
The older Series 5 was a great shaver. I have no complaints, so if you can find a great discount, I say go for it. The only real difference is the cutting actions per minute. The old Series 5 does not have a Turbo Mode button, so the cutting actions per minute are 24,000.

A great budget-friendly shaver, but the newer version of the Series 5 includes a Turbo Mode for no extra cost.
New Style Series 5
The new Series 5 now has a Turbo mode which takes the cutting actions per minute up to 26,000.

New in 2024, the Braun Series 5 now has a Turbo Mode.
Other than the cutting actions per minute, the new and old shavers are very similar. Even the head are interchangeable.

The head of the Series 5 is interchangeable with the Series 7.
Conclusion
Overall, I think the Braun Series 5 is one of my favorite low-cost shavers. It provides a smooth shave, and I love all the attachment options. I recommend the newer Series 5 with the Turbo button, because the extra power is worth it.

Yes, the Series 5 is waterproof, so you can shave in the shower. You can also shave with shave gel/foam and cleaning is very simple because the shaver can be rinsed under water.
Does it have any attachments?
Depending upon which configuration you get, there are many different attachments. They are called “EasyClick” because they easily snap in and out. There is a beard trimmer, body groomer, beard stubble, and facial brush attachment. So, check which ones come with your shaver before purchasing.
