Just the Braun Beard Stubble Attachment

The attachment can be purchased separately, which is a great choice if you already own the Braun 5, 6, or 7. The attachment includes 4 combs of length 1, 2, 3, and 4. This gives you the ability to choose the amount of stubble you prefer. Changing the combs is very easy.

The Beard Hedger from Manscaped

The Beard Hedger from Manscaped is intended as a trimmer for beards but it works excellent as a stubble trimmer.

The Beard Hedger from Manscaped

The Beard Hedger has highly adjustable lengths. The lengths go from .5mm to 10mm and can be set every half mm.

Performance Comparison for Beard Stubble

Both trim effectively and neither resulted in tugging or irritation. Also, both provided an even trim. At the lowest setting, the Manscaped does appear to trim a shorter length of stubble.

Charging

The Beard Hedger from Manscaped charges with USB-C and the included cable. The Braun shavers charge using the included Braun-specific charging cable.

Adjusting Length

The Beard Hedger from Manscaped has 20 different hair length settings ranging from .5mm to 10mm. The Braun Stubble Attachment includes 4 different lengths of combs that are very easy to exchange, but also very easy to drop and lose. Adjusting the length on The Beard Hedger is as simple as turning a dial. The Beard Hedger definitely wins the Length Adjustment competition.

Cleaning the Shaver

Both shavers are waterproof so they can easily be run under the sink for cleaning.

Trimming

The Braun Stubble attachment allows the hairs to be trimmed while moving the shaver in both directions while The Beard Hedger only trims in a single direction.

Catching the Hair Clippings

The Beard Stubble Attachment for the Braun allows many of the hair clippings to be caught within the head of the shaver. The Beard Hedger does not catch any of the clippings.

Conclusion

Overall, both work great for beard stubble. Lately, I have been using The Beard Hedger when I want to leave stubble. I like the extra length adjustments and it can trim a little shorter.

However, if you already have a Braun Series 5, 6, or 7; the Braun Stubble Attachment is a very inexpensive way to get a stubble trimmer.

Future

There are others I have not tested, and may do so in the future. If so, I will add the details here.

Leave a comment to let me know what shaver you would like me to test.
